I am Qian Wang.
Having programmed since the 7th grade, I believe I can leverage my technical and quantitative background to create change in K-12 education. During a summer at MIT, I taught Java programming in Ethiopia and hoped to create opportunities for my students through computer science. Most recently, I left a career in quantitative finance to forge a new path in education technology.
For the past year in the Stanford University Learning Design and Technology program, I have worked closely with teachers at a local public elementary school to launch a sustainable technology plan and design a blended learning program with iPads.
My time with these amazing teachers has shown me that not all aspects of schools are failing. I believe that education technology can leverage and scale the existing successes in school systems, and I strongly believe that well designed technologies can aid schools in giving all children the education they deserve.
I am currently building a tool that will help streamline and significantly reduce school paperwork.
